Amazing Grace in Parenting (episode 46)

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.    John 1:14 

Grace and truth combine perfectly in Christ.  The bible describes Jesus as full of grace and truth. This is really good news for those of us seeking to build disciples at home!  So much of parenting comes down to trying to balance grace and truth.  Too much grace and our kids can grow lazy.  Too much truth and our kids can grow resistant.

Wouldn’t it be great if a child came with a handbook describing the best ways to discipline, correct, encourage, and bless them!?  And then we’d definitely need one for each kid, because we know that what works for one kid, won’t necessarily work with another!  While we don’t have that kind of handbook, we do have communion with our Lord who can provide the exact wisdom needed to deal with each situation, at each age and season, with each kid.  Again, that’s really good news.
